is David J. Donofrio.
Mr. Donofrio is
a local real estate
broker and developer
who has been in
the real estate
business for over
20 years. He is
a graduate of the
University of Delaware
with a B.S. Degree
in Landscape Design
and Horticulture.
He began his career
in golf course
construction and
management at the
Golden Eagle Golf
Course, which is
part of The Tides
Inn. Later, moving
to real estate
development with
the Bay Company,
he was involved
in construction,
development and
sales of Mallard
Bay, a planned
development in
Northumberland
County, Virginia.
Immediately
prior to forming
Merry Point,
he was associated
with Chesapeake
Corporation/Delmarva
Properties, Inc.
(Virginia’s
largest landholder)
as a real estate
broker and consultant
for its properties
in Virginia’s
Northern Neck.
Mr. Donofrio
is also currently
involved with
Edge Hill Farm,
a waterfront
estate development
located on the
Great Wicomico
River.
The principal
and majority
shareholder of
Merry Point Development
Company of Virginia
is Maris Andersons,
who has spent
most of his career
in the investment
and commercial
banking industries.
From 1976 to
1996, Mr. Andersons
was an executive
at Tenet Healthcare
Corporation,
a public company
owning and operating
numerous hospitals
and related healthcare
facilities throughout
the United States
with annual revenues
of approximately
$10 billion.
Mr. Andersons
served as Treasurer
of Tenet from
1981 to 1996,
at which time
he was also CFO.
In addition,
he played a key
role in the development
of four former
subsidiaries
or affiliates
of Tenet Healthcare,
including National
Funding Corporation,
The Hillhaven
Corporation,
Total Renal Care,
Inc. and Westminster
Healthcare. Mr.
Andersons was
also involved
in real estate
development in
the western part
of the United
States.
